And Once Again — Geophysics
The software for running and visualizing the hydraulic fracturing (fracking) process simulation has been developed by Unipro programmers for Novosibirsk State University (NSU). This new software will help scientists, who work on highly complex computational models, to easily launch their simulations and quickly obtain visual results of the fracking process in oil and gas reservoirs. It is expected that the program will be used in the scientific and technical centers of oil companies, allowing them to more efficiently apply scientific algorithms to optimize extraction processes.
For Unipro, this is not the first foray into the simulation of geophysical processes. In the mid-2000s, the company was actively involved in the development of a software suite for the automated processing of electromagnetic logging data from oil wells. Using mathematical modeling methods for probing the Earth's subsurface, the characteristics and geometry of the underground environment were determined. This allowed for the rapid processing of electromagnetic exploration data and the visualization of results.
